CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY

CULTURE CORNER'S CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: August 29, 2026

Culture Corner (“Culture Corner”, "we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children who use our website and apps. This Children's Online Privacy Policy explains our information practices regarding children under age 13 and is provided in accordance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). Terms not defined here have the meaning given in our general Privacy Policy at [ https://www.culturecorner.com/general-privacy-policy ].

1. No Registration Required

The Culture Corner app is designed so that children can browse products, watch age-appropriate media, and play activities without creating an account or providing personal information. We do not ask children for their name, email address, phone number, or physical address to use the core features of the app.

2. Information We Do Not Collect From Children

We do not knowingly collect, and our app is not designed to collect, any of the following directly from children: full name, home address, email address, phone number, photos, audio/voice recordings, or precise geolocation.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like most apps, ours may automatically collect limited technical information needed for the app to work and to keep it secure, such as device type, operating system, app version, and general (non-precise) usage data (e.g., which screens are viewed, crash reports). This information:

  • Is not used to build a profile of an individual child;

  • Is not used to serve behavioral or interest-based advertising to children;

  • Is not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes; and

  • Is used only to operate, maintain, and improve the app and to ensure legal compliance.

We will only use “child-suitable” software development kits (SDKs) consistent with Amazon Appstore's Child-Directed App Policy, and we do not display third-party behavioral advertising in child-directed areas of the app.

4. Purchases

Any purchase of Culture Corner toys or products through the app or website is completed by a parent/adult on a separate, non-child-directed checkout flow. We do not collect payment or shipping information from children.

5. Parental Rights

Because we do not collect personal information from children through the app's child-directed features, there is generally no child data to review or delete. If you believe your child has provided personal information to us in a manner inconsistent with this policy, contact us immediately at [info@culturecorner.com] and we will investigate and delete it promptly.

6. Additional State Law Provisions (California & Utah)

California — Age-Appropriate Design Code Act (AADC)*

If our app is likely to be accessed by users under 18 in California, we additionally:

  • Estimate the age of child users with a reasonable level of certainty appropriate to the risks arising from our data practices, or apply the privacy and data protections afforded to children to all California users;

  • Configure default privacy settings for known or reasonably suspected minor users to a high level of privacy, unless we can demonstrate a compelling reason that a different default is in the minor's best interest;

  • Provide privacy information, terms of service, policies, and community standards in clear, age-appropriate language, and avoid “dark patterns” that lead children to provide more personal information than necessary or to weaken their privacy protections;

  • Give an obvious signal to a child when a parent, guardian, or other user is monitoring the child's activity or location within the app, where such monitoring features exist;

  • Provide prominent, accessible tools that help children (and their parents, where applicable) exercise privacy rights and report concerns; and

  • Not use a minor's personal information in a way we know, or have reason to know, is materially detrimental to the minor's physical health, mental health, or well-being.

This section applies in addition to, not in place of, the COPPA-based provisions above for users we know to be under 13.

*Status note: The AADC (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.99.28 et seq.) defines a “child” as anyone under 18 -broader than COPPA's under-13 standard - and applies to any online service, product, or feature “likely to be accessed by children.” Several provisions were enjoined by federal courts; as of April 2026, the Ninth Circuit allowed key provisions (age estimation, parental-monitoring transparency, age-appropriate disclosures, and privacy tools) to take effect, while other provisions (including the Data Protection Impact Assessment requirement) remain enjoined. This is an active, moving legal landscape with a further policy modification occurring when the issue is resolved, if necessary.

Utah — App Store Accountability Act (ASAA)**

For Utah users, once the ASAA's developer obligations are in effect, we:

  • Rely on the age-category and, where applicable, verifiable-parental-consent signals provided to us by the Amazon Appstore (as the “app store provider”) rather than independently collecting additional age-verification data from the child;

  • Do not permit a Utah user identified as a minor to download the app, make an in-app purchase, or access features requiring personal information unless the applicable age category and parental consent signals confirm this is permitted;

  • Notify the Amazon Appstore of any “significant change” to the app (for example, a material change to this policy or to the app's age rating or content) so that renewed parental consent can be sought where required; and

  • Rely on Amazon Appstore's age-verification and consent process as our good-faith basis for compliance, consistent with the ASAA's developer safe-harbor provisions, provided we otherwise meet our own obligations under this policy.

This section applies in addition to, not in place of, the COPPA-based provisions above for users we know to be under 13.

**Status note: Utah's ASAA (S.B. 142, as amended by H.B. 498) places obligations on both app store providers and app developers regarding age verification and parental consent for minors (under 18) in Utah. Following 2026 amendments, the Utah Attorney General's enforcement authority was removed, key developer/app-store operational requirements were delayed until May 6, 2027, and enforcement now runs primarily through a private right of action for parents of harmed minors. This is an active, moving legal landscape with a further policy modification occurring when the issue is resolved, if necessary.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted here and, where required, communicated to parents.
